Smart Defaults Improvements

Automatically back-filling missing years

Smart Defaults will now automatically back-fill missing years
Smart Defaults previously left a few unexpected gaps in historical crop practices. However, Smart Defaults will now automatically back-fill this data back to years even where it previously could not. With this addition, we are reaching a point where suppliers can jump into quantification without as much additional manual data entry in the spreadsheet.

Revisiting previously completed sections of Smart Defaults

Users can now revisit steps of a previous Smart Defaults run
Previously, it was not possible for a user to review previously completed steps of a Smart Defaults run. With the latest release, users can now go back to each of the sections and review what configurations they selected so that they can compare it to what was entered.

Quantification improvements

Quantification for projects using sheet v3.1

Quantification is now working for some projects
When we previously introduced sheet v3.1 quantification broke. However, quantification is now working again for some projects that are using sheet v3.1.
Quantification for projects using sheet < v3.1 is no longer supported
Because of changes in the layout of the data in the latest version of the intake sheet, quantification for projects still using older versions of the sheet (< v3.1) is no longer supported.
Support for quantification is still under heavy development
While we continue to work out some of the kinks in quantification it is likely that users will continue to experience bugs. We hope this resolves over the course of the next release or so.

Support for perennial crops

You can now specify perennial crops in the sheet
The latest version of the sheet (v3.1) supports perennial crops. To specify a perennial crop, simply specify the same crop name in successive years and then delete the planting date for that crop in all crop years except for the first occurrence in the original planting year.

You no longer need to specify harvest events for all crops

You can now omit harvest events for crops that do not have one

Data import bug fixes

  • A bug that was incorrectly disregarding harvest events (when more than 3 were defined in a data import) was fixed. Import files that have up to 16 harvest events (across all crops in a given crop year) will now correctly populate the spreadsheet.

Smart Defaults bug fixes

  • A bug that was causing all prompts to say "tillage" in the preview description was fixed
  • A bug that was causing Smart Defaults to write invalid irrigation dates to the spreadsheet was fixed

Misc. bug fixes

  • A bug that was causing suppliers to see 404 errors for certain project links was fixed
